Membership Information

Membership in The Villages Genealogical Society and its programs is limited to residents of The Villages, Florida.

New Membership is $10 which includes a one-time $5 membership fee and $5 for the first year's annual dues. Renewal dues are $5 per year.  The membership fee is payable upon submitting your application for membership.
Our membership year runs from January through December.  Those joining during the last four months of the year will receive the balance of the membership year for free and their dues will be credited to the following year.  Example: Someone joining and paying their dues in September would be considered paid through December of the following year.

Applications can be obtained and completed at any monthly meeting of the Society. Monthly meetings are usually the fourth Wednesday the month at 10:00 a.m. at the Savannah Center. Due to Thanksgiving, the November meeting may be held either on the 3rd  or 4th Wednesday. There is no meeting in December. All meeting dates and times are subject to change. See "Coming Events" for exact dates and times for all our activities. Applications can also be downloaded and mailed in to the Membership Chairperson. See application link below. Applications can be obtained but are not accepted at Special Interest Group meetings.
Funds collected are used for the Society's activities, including guest speakers, material handouts, and the purchase of genealogical resources and equipment.
Each member is entitled to attend the general monthly meeting of the Society and any of the meetings held by the Special Interest Groups.
Each member receives the Society's monthly newsletter via e-mail and has access to our website "Members Only" section. Genealogy News Updates, technology help, education opportunities and event reminders are available on our weekly "Blog." Renewal Information:
  • Dues expires for all members on December 31st of each year.
  • Renewal dues is $5.00 per year.
  • Dues can be paid at any monthly general membership meeting.
  • Dues cannot be paid at SIG meetings.
  • Renewals can be made by mail.
