Italian Genealogy SIG
General Information
The Italian Special Interest Group meets the 2nd Monday of the month from 1:00pm to 2:20pm at the Savannah Recreation Center. There are no meetings June through September. The goal of this SIG is to offer help and advice to one another through meetings and email with our own researching experiences and sharing those experiences with one another in the discovery of our Italian ancestors. We are an informal group with no specific presentations or agenda. We focus on how to make that first connection in Italy and with understanding the documents that may be available and how to obtain and translate them. Some of our members already have had considerable success and they are sharing their knowledge already learned in order for others to meet their objectives.
New members are always welcome, however, you must be a member of The Villages Genealogical Society to participate in our meetings. If you are not a member but would like to be, please visit our Membership Information section.
